"The installation of this massive cube is a continuation of last year's work which was delayed. Personnel will work on 45 meters long and 1.5 meters high," he said, Wednesday (6/26).

Hendri added that the work is run manually by arranging cubes to form a 4-3-2-1 pattern. The installation involved nine task force personnel with the support of two homemade ships to carry the embankment out to sea.

"It has been carried out since early June and is targeted for completion next December," he added.

The work process is often hampered by east winds or high waves which makes it difficult for personnel to install the massive cubes.

RW 03 Head of Sebira Island, Harapan Island Urban Village, Ali Kurniawan, appreciated the personnel and hoped the cube will be able to hold sea wave to protect beach from abrasion.

"With this wave breaking embankment, tidal flooding to the surface can be anticipated," he stated.
